Racingbase.com.au experts do the hard work for you as they keep a close eye on the latest racing and trials and highlight their horses to follow in our blackbookers file.

Countless hours go into watching replays and analysing times, and our experts’ record speaks for itself having identified future winners that have paid up to 80/1 at their next start.

Our experts provide weekly blackbookers and horses to follow from the weekend racing, as well as news and ones to watch from barrier trials every week.

How to find blackbookers

Sometimes a horse charges home with a flashing red light on its head and just screams ‘back me next start’.

While that runner is almost certain to go in the blackbook, you can guarantee most of the racing public have seen the same thing and its odds will be dramatically slashed at its next start.

Our experts dig deeper and look for the more hidden blackbookers that can be found when watching replays over and over with a well-trained eye.

Free Blackbook Service – where can I track my horses to follow?

Never miss a future winner by using a blackbook service that will notify you when your blackbooked selection is going to race.

Bookmaker Sportsbet offers a free blackbook that allows you to follow your favourite thoroughbreds, harness runners and greyhounds.

The feature is very easy to use. Simply go to ‘my account’ and click on ‘blackbook.’ Select the code you want and enter the runners name, as well as a comment if you like. Runners can also be added to the blackbook from race fields and results by clicking on their name and selecting ‘add to blackbook’.

You can receive email or SMS notification when your selections are scheduled to race. Emails are sent the evening prior to the event. SMS are sent on the morning of the event after the scratchings.

You can track up to 30 runners across thoroughbreds, harness racing and greyhounds.

WHERE TO WATCH HORSE RACING REPLAYS

The Internet has really revolutionised the ability for racing fans and punters to be able to access horse racing replays, form and sectional times, and if you have enough time on your hands, doing the form has never been easier.

While a few sites charge a fee for their premium services, there are still plenty of sites dedicated to informing punters, and their content is free.

Here is a list of sites to visit so you can access free racing replays.

VICTORIA

Racing.com is the place to go to for all Victorian racing and trial replays. You need to sign up to use their service, but considering it really is a service you can’t do without, the quick sign-up process is well worth your time. The search bar at the top of the homepage makes finding any replay as easy as 1, 2, 3 – literally. Just type the name of a horse you are looking for, click on the name when it appears and you will be taken to that horses profile page which features each race replay from Victoria.

NSW

RacingNSW has a fantastic free service to find results and replays for country and provincial meetings and trials in NSW. To access replays, simply click on ‘Race Diary and Information’ in the menu bar and then click on ‘Recent Results’ in the drop down menu. A list of race meetings will appear and once you select the meeting you are looking for, the results with race replay and last 400m videos will appear. Too easy!!

SOUTH AUSTRALIA

The Thoroughbred Racing South Australia (TRSA) have a great site with race information, updates, race and trial replays and more importantly, sectional times. Now there replays are only available for approximately three months after each race but the service is still first rate – and did I mention it’s FREE! To access race replays, hover over ‘Race Information’ in the menu bar and then select ‘Race Results and Replays’ from the drop down menu. Click on the meeting you would like to view and then find the photo finish and replay for each race with sectional times available for Metropolitan meetings.

QLD

Racing Queensland provides information on thoroughbred, harness and greyhound racing which complicates the site but still provides more than enough information. To find thoroughbred replays, scroll down on the homepage and click the ‘Free Video Replays’ image link.

WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Perth Racing’s website offers replays of all Western Australia thoroughbred racing plus much more. To find the replays, hover over ‘Races’ in the menu bar, click on ‘Race & Trial Replays’ and hey presto, you have access to race replays and trials. You can search by date or horse name which makes finding the replay you’re after really simple.

NORTHERN TERRITORY

The Darwin Turf Club website offers replays of most Darwin races but the site is a clear cut below the other states – give them time though. To find the replays, hover over ‘Races’ in the menu bar, click on ‘Results/Replays’ be taken to a race date search screen. Click on the date you are after and see which replays are available.

TASMANIA

TasRacing offers FREE race replays for every trial and every race for every code – which is great! However, the replays are a little harder to find. Hover over ‘Media Centre’ in the menu bar and click on ‘Race Replays.’ Then scroll down and find ‘Punters Dashboard’ link. When you click on this you will be prompted to Sign-up. If you love Tassie racing, it’s really just a formality.
