Sunlight defeats Zousain in the Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington

A total of 15 speedsters have been nominated for Saturday’s Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning (1000m) at Flemington.

The Everest 3rd placegetter Osborne Bulls is the highest rated horse among entries and will be aiming to make it two from two down the Flemington straight after taking out the Group 2 Linlithgow Stakes (1200m) at his only previous attempt.

Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) winner Sunlight heads a list of five three-year-olds which also includes Written By and Graff as well as stablemates Lean Mean Machine and Zousain.

As well as five three-year-olds, the Lloyd Kennewell-trained Jedastar is the only two-year-old among entries.

Cranbourne-based trainer Sarah Zschoke has nominated the up and coming Eduardo who claimed the Group 2 Caulfield Sprint (1200m) last campaign and has trialled magnificently in the lead up to Saturday’s $750,000 feature.
