A total of 36 horses remain in contention for the the 2017 Caulfield Cup (2400m) including seven international runners after the second acceptances stage for the October 21 feature.

Humidor is one of six horses entered by trainer Darren Weir, who could also saddle Japanese import Admire Deus in the Spring Carnival feature as well Group 3 The Bart Cummings winner Amelie’s Star, although she is yet to secure a starting berth.

Among the other overseas runners include the Charlie Appleby-trained Godolphin pair Francis of Assisi and Kidmenever, who will be joined in the race by fellow boy in blue Hartnell for trainer James Cummings.

Marmelo (Hugh Morrison), Johannes Vermeer (Aidan O’Brien), Wall of Fire (Hugo Palmer) and the Willie Mullins-trained pair Wicklow Brave and Riven Light are the other internationals accepting for the Caulfield Cup.
