Corowa and Ballina Tips for Monday Nov 5

Ric Chapman in Free Tips 4 Nov 2018
  • Confidence: 90% Diamonds For Alice; 89% Ooshe; 88% Lady Mironton

We have a pair of race meetings to look at on Monday in NSW.

They are at Ballina up north of the state where it is quite warm, and down south at Corowa....where it's no so warm.

What a wonderful weekend of racing all over the world it was, and we get a little breather today to make some money for the upcoming Melbourne Cup day card tomorrow.

Then it's Oaks day on Thursday then Stakes day on Saturday. Never seems to stop.

Good luck.

Race 6 - 5:50PM F&M Class 1 hcp 1000m
When oh when are the Gods of good fortune going to shine on the connections of DIAMONDS FOR ALICE? Since her lowly $8,000 Mdn win at Hay in a non-TAB meeting back in Nov last year, she has raced 8 times and on all 8 occasions she has placed 4 x 2nd and 4 x 3rd, all in pretty much this grade. Slight difference here which may help is it's the first time she has been in an all girls race. She is fast and this does look ideal...finally!

Race 7 - 6:25PM Class 2 Hcp 1400m
LADY MIRONTON has twice been 2nd up before and on both occasions has placed. She finds herself 2nd up here also, coming off a solid 5th at Wagga in a Class 2. Drew wide that day and was behind the ruck most of way before finishing a closing 5th. Extra trip, fitter and Ok draw means she is going to be right in this finish.

Race 3 - 3:05PM BM 58 Hcp 1000m
OOSHE has only ever won once, that was early in her career but she does boast strong first up stats which include 2 x placings. She resumes here and this isn't overly strong. Won her maiden this time last year at the Gold Coast and that's generally a good sign for Ballina races. She has struggled in Class 2 races since then, but is down to BM 58 grade here and is helped a great deal by inside draw. Big show.
