We have two race meetings in NSW today.

They are up north of Sydney in the Hunter Valley at beautiful Scone, and up really north of the state at Grafton.

It's equally as impressive.

SCONE

Race 6 - 4:55PM EMIRATES PARK CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1100M 1100m
Very good field. Very even field luck in running plays the biggest role. I like PETRA JEWEL here. Being 3rd up with 2 terrific runs this grade since resuming suggest she is ready. Finished just behind rival Vega de Lago 2 runs back and meets that horse a little better at the weights. Good race.

GRAFTON

Race 3 - 3:20PM FAREWELL BRIAN FERRIE - MAIDEN PLATE 1400m
Gee, you couldn't have missed STOLEN PARADISE on debut. It was at this track in this grade 3 weeks back over 1200m. She settled at the tail of the field, then started her run with 600m to go, meaning she was 5 wide from that point on. She is a big mare who needed to be balanced and once she was in the home straight, despite the tough run earlier, she stuck her head out and extended finishing a good closing 2nd. Has more experience now, is up to a trip that suits, has a great draw and just looks too good...providing she has luck down the running.

Race 4 - 3:55PM FAREWELL JOHN KENNY - CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1400m
The Tamworth trained SHIVER ME TIMBERS is a get back and run on type who has been doing that well without winning this grade of late. Significantly though, she has been doing it at tracks not suited to that type of racing. She gets one here today that is and I suspect she just chimes in at the 200m and races away. Very keen on her today. NOOKS And CRANNIES for 2nd.
