SPORTSBET BETTING REVIEW
Sportsbet is Australia’s largest bookmaker and we offer an independent review of the brand and the live streaming service.
About Sportsbet.com.au
Sportsbet claims to be ‘Australia’s Number 1 Betting Agency’ and they certainly live up to that having been the leading player in the online betting space for more than two decades.
Sportsbet has operated in Australia for more than 20 years having been first formed in 1993 when becoming the first licenced bookmaker Down Under.
In 2009, Irish bookmaker Paddy Power completed a buyout of Sportsbet, and the combined power has kept Sportsbet ahead of a growing group of rivals.
Sportsbet is licenced by the Northern Territory Racing Commission (NTRC) and has offices in Melbourne, where the company has its headquarters, and Darwin, where the company was originally formed in the 1990s before expanding to the major operation they now are.
Sportsbet offers a staggering number of betting markets across horse racing, harness racing, greyhound racing, AFL, NRL, NFL, NBA, tennis, soccer and even novelty markets such as betting on reality TV programs and politics.
Sportsbet Sign Up Offer
For legal reasons, we cannot offer the Sportsbet Sign-Up offer.

Sportsbet Betting Markets
When it comes to the sheer number of markets, Sportsbet stands out above many rival bookmakers in Australia with incredible depth to their sports betting markers per game and array of events offered.
On top of that, Sportsbet is usually the first bookmaking offering fixed odds-on horse racing, harness racing and greyhound racing – sticking their neck on the line with their prices and odds before their rivals have put together their books. The prices are very fair too, with Sportsbet often offering the top odds about most runners.
They also offer Top Tote Plus (TT+) on horse racing in which you receive the better of the dividends declared by the three Australian TAB’s or the Starting Price (SP).
Sportsbet Inplay Betting
Sportsbet is one of the leading bookmakers that offer In-Play betting for its customers. Due to the risks of live betting with changing markets, Sportsbet gives one-on-one communication with secure methods to place your desired bet.
In-Play betting is encouraged with live steaming options and is very easy to contact them, which is refreshing, without waiting for ages to connect. You can In-Play Bet at 13 BETS (13 2387). However, you must confirm the bet before hanging up, or else the bet won’t be placed.
To view the match, you have bet on live, or to keep up to date with your in-play bet you can use the live streaming icon.
Sportsbet User Experience
Sportsbet model has been Australia’s top sports betting platform to use, the first thing you notice when using their platforms is the colour light blue which is very welcoming and easy on the eyes.
Sportsbet is quite possibly one of the easiest and most rewarding betting services to use, with endless promotions and bonus bets. Navigating through the app is easy and encourages you to bet live with backstory.
A handy feature for users, particularly horse racing users, is the expert’s tip, which gives you exclusive advice on who the betting tip is.
Sportsbet Mobile Site
Sportsbet’s website hasn’t changed much down the years, but there is very likely to be a good reason for that – because it works well as it is. The clean and clear white and blue colour scheme makes navigating the website each, as does the quick links on the left-hand menu on the home page and the shortcuts to the next races and events to start.
The left-hand menu displays the biggest upcoming racing and sports matches and events and gives you access to those markets in one click, which makes it super quick and easy. Bet placement is equally speedy with the bet slip appearing on the right-hand side. You can watch live racing and sports events from within the individual sections of the website.
Sportsbet Mobile App
The Sportsbet app is one of the best out there. Not only does it give you access to the thousands of markets the bookmaker offers but it also allows you to bet live without the need to speak to a telephone betting agent, withdraw winnings to your Sportsbet Cash Card and also watch live racing and sports events as they happen.
Available to use iPads and iPhones as well as in an Android format for other mobile devices and tablets, it is free to download, and you can deposit funds and withdraw winnings from your account through the app. Sportsbet also has a dedicated mobile site that can be used from phones and tablets if you prefer not to download the Sportsbet app.
Sportsbet Live Streaming
Sportsbet is one of a select number of Australian bookmakers who offer live streaming of all Victorian horse races. They were the first bookmaker to do so in 2015 and have since been joined by several rivals in broadcast all races run in the state.
That racing includes action from the likes of Flemington, Caulfield and Moonee Valley – including the Melbourne Cup, Caulfield Cup and Cox Plate. You do not need to have a bet to watch the races, you simply need to have funds deposited in your account.
As well as the live racing streams, Sportsbet also broadcast sports events to customers on both the website and app. Those including soccer from some of the world’s biggest leagues, tennis, basketball, snooker and much more.
Sportsbet Free Bet Offers
Sportsbet can’t offer free bets anymore. Due to Australian laws, Australian bookmakers aren’t allowed to offer incentives to bet. However, they do offer bonus bets which are available to customers under two conditions.
- Members who are Australian or New Zealand residents and capable of viewing publicly available Sportsbet promotional advertising material
- Members who receive an Offer that is specifically addressed to that Member and the Offer is only available to and capable of being redeemed by that member.
Sportsbet also offers exclusive promotions and bonus bets to customers subscribed to the Weekly Members Newsletter.
Sportsbet Casino
The Sportsbet Casino feature is not available in Australia, due to the Interactive Gambling Act of 2001.
