Favourite The Velvet King and Samizdat landed favourable draws for Saturday's Group 1 Railway Stakes (1600m) at Ascot.
Trained by Darren McAuliffe, four-year-old gelding The Velvet King is the early favourite for the Railway Stakes and the local galloper will jump from barrier six for the Perth feature.
The Chris Gangemi-trained four-year-old gelding Samizdat, a winner of five races from eight starts, came up with an ideal gate in barrier three of the 16-strong field.
The well-backed Tellem We're Comin, for trainers Grant & Alana Williams and Brenton Avdulla, will start from barrier nine, but stablemate Regal Power - the choice of William Pike - landed the car park in barrier 15.
Best Of Days represents Godolphin trainer James Cummings and will have to overcome a slightly tricky draw in gate 11.
