Leading rider Jamie Kah has been suspended after being charged with careless riding.

The Adelaide-based jockey pleaded guilty to causing interference in the opening event of the day at Caulfield.

Whilst aboard the Lindsay Park filly Sukoshi, Kah shifted in, causing interference to Beau Mertens who was aboard Forever Loud.

Stewards found Kah guilty of low-range interference and suspended her for eight meetings.

Kah will ride until the close of next Saturday’s meeting at Flemington, when she will then begin her time in the stands.

This sees her missing the Group Three Bletchingly Stakes meeting at Caulfield on July 27, and see her return to riding on Monday July 29.

Meanwhile, fellow rider Tahlia Hope is responding to her treatment and has been moved out of intensive care and into the cardiac ward.

Hope was struck down with viral meningitis last Thursday and was admitted to Frankston Hospital where she was suffering from an infection and swelling on the brain.

Medical staff continue to monitor her progress under the treatment.
