Sydney jockey Jason Collett’s winning hat-trick celebrations turned sour yesterday when stewards suspended him on a careless riding charge.

The day got off to a bad start for Collett as he was beaten aboard the odds-on favourite, Reloaded, in the first race of the day.

Run down by Prince Fawaz over the final hundred metres, Collett’s disappointment was added to after the race when stewards charged him with causing interference to Floreat Pica who in turn shifted out onto Sea Of Life causing the John O’Shea colt become unbalanced.

Collett pleaded guilty to the charge and was suspended by stewards and will be out of action until June 13 when he can resume riding at Gosford.

The suspension sees Collett miss the Stradbroke Handicap meeting to be run at Eagle Farm on Saturday June 8.

The victory by Prince Fawaz sees the Anthony Cummings-trained two-year-old replace Reloaded as pre-race favourite for the Group One JJ Atkins with the TAB.

The Fastnet Rock colt heads the market at $4.50 for the 1600m event with Reloaded now on the second line at $5.
