Leading Queensland rider Jeff Lloyd is more than likely to appeal his suspension he received from his ride on the Group One Doomben 10,000.

The champion jockey pleaded not guilty to causing interference to Kathy O’Hara’s mount White Moss in the Group One Doomben 10,000 while riding Outback Barbie.

Stewards found Lloyd angled his mount outwards when attempting to obtain a run to the outside of I'm A Rippa, causing interference to White Moss.

Lloyd was found guilty of the charge and handed a 16-meeting suspension which begins on May 19 and will see him miss some major races during the Winter Carnival, including the Queensland Oaks meeting set for June 1.

Lloyd will more than likely appeal the decision and he has five working days to file for an internal review on the guilty verdict.

The suspension marred what was a good day for Lloyd after he steered the Tony Gollan-trained Ef Troop to victory earlier in the day.
