Tim Clark to replace Damien Browne in MM Guineas

Leading Queensland jockey Damian Browne was taken to hospital last night suffering stomach pain and will miss the ride on Boomsara in the MM Guineas on Saturday.

AAP reports that Browne complained of severe cramps and was rushed to hospital where he later underwent surgery for a perforated bowel.

This sees the leading hoop out of action indefinitely.

Star Sydney hoop Tim Clark has picked up the ride on the Spirit Of Boom gelding.

Without a mount for the three-year-old event, trainer Chris Munce was quick to pounce in booking Clark for the ride.

The three-year-old remains a firm second elect at $4.20 with Sportsbet, behind Outback Barbie who has firmed to $2.25 since drawing a favourable barrier.

"Our thoughts are with Damian. Tim is a top Group jockey and we are lucky to get him," Munce said.

In other Guineas news, training partners Ciaron Maher and David Eustace has been given permission from Queensland Racing stewards to scratch Star Fall from the Guineas.

The Zoustar colt is a dual acceptor and will line up in the first race at Randwick as a $2.20 favourite with Sportsbet.

He joins Ljungberg and Doss who were scratched earlier from the race.
