The 2019 Warrnambool Carnival gets underway on Tuesday and I’ve found five Jockeys who can be followed throughout the three-day Carnival and likely make us some cash at The ‘Bool.

1. Damien Oliver

No surprises with the first jockey on our list, It’s the superstar hoop Damien Oliver. Ollie has been in terrific form to start 2019, with 47 winners from 252 rides. That’s a strikerate of 18.7 percent and a Profit On Turnover (POT) of 23.87%. In doing some research, I’ve found that it always pays to respect horses in the market for D.Oliver. Over the last year Ollie has ridden 118 horses who were in the top three in the market for a winning strikerate of 31.4% and a PoT of 12.29%. Ollie has seven rides over the Carnival, with four on Wednesday and three on Thursday. He will ride two horses for Mick Price on Thursday, Whyouask in race three and Run Gypsy Run in race four. You will struggle to find a better combination than Oliver and Price in Australia, they have teamed up for 38 runners in 2019 for 13 wins and a PoT of 165.66 percent.

2. Luke Currie

The next Jockey on our list is Luke Currie. Currie is a terrific rider who I especially love to follow at provincial and country tracks. Over the last year, Currie has had 253 rides at provincial or country tracks for 44 winners, with a strikerate of 17.40% and a PoT of 8.39%. That is in comparison to his stats in Metro Melbourne over the last year, where he has had 261 rides for 32 winners, a strikerate of 12.3% and a PoT of 0.67%. Currie will have three rides for Tony McEvoy over the three-day carnival. Currie & McEvoy have been a very profitable combination over the last 12 months, with the two partnering for 49 winners from 266 runners and a PoT of 11.65%.

3. Steven Pateman

Again, no surprises here with Steve Pateman in our Jockey’s to follow over the Warrnambool Carnival. Pateman hasn’t had too many rides over the last six months, with only five winners from 13 runners but he is always a force at The ‘Bool. In the 2018 May Carnival, Pateman had two winners from seven rides and finished with a profitable PoT of 41.43 percent. The Punters could do a lot worse than back Steve Pateman over the three days at Warrnambool.

4. Damien Thornton

Damien Thornton has been flying in April and if he takes the form to Warrnambool, he will certainly ride a few winners. Thornton has had 62 rides so far in April for 11 winners, that’s a winning strikerate of 17.7 percent and a PoT of 50.32%. Thornton has been a profitable jockey for Punters for a long period of time at provincial and country tracks in Victoria, with 830 rides over the last 12 months for 100 winners and a sneaky good PoT of 6.52 percent.

5. Jamie Kah

What a terrific rider Jamie Kah is. I love having my money on Jamie Kah ridden horses, as they usually get every chance. Kah was slightly out of form, from a profitably point of view anyway before her overseas trip earlier this month and she has come back riding plenty of winners. She returned on April 24th and since then she is riding at over 30 percent. She has had 23 rides for seven winners and a PoT of 21.3 percent.
