Albury and Canterbury Tips February 8 - best bets for NSW racing on Friday

Aaron Hamilton in Free Tips 8 Feb 2019

NSW racing action takes place at Albury throughout the day and Canterbury Park at night, and I’ve found a couple that look set to run big races.

Here are my best bets for Albury and Canterbury today:

ALBURY:

Race 3 - 2:45PM ACE RADIO 2AY CLASS 2 HANDICAP (1000 METRES)
I think FIND MY TAIL looks over the odds here and, in all honesty, I think he can win this comfortably. The lightly-raced six-year-old son of Shellcrape only has a few short hairs for a tail which certainly makes him unique. He’s won two and placed six from 15 starts, and while his three efforts since his last win have been 9th, 7th and 5th, each of those runs were an improvement on what he was doing earlier in his career. Last start over 1000m was his first run in four weeks, and he’s sure to improve on that as he stays at the same trip and drops in class. His only start at the track and trip saw him begin slowly and be driven to take up a spot behind the speed, and while he took a split and looked the winner, he was nailed right on the line by a horse out wide.

CANTERBURY:

Race 6 - 8:45PM CANTERBURY NIGHT SPRINT SERIES - HEAT 4 (1100 METRES)
I think Prince Mayted is the class horse here but he’s first-up and just finds a way to lose at Canterbury. The in-form INVINCIBLE GANGSTA on the other hand looks primed for a third-up victory following two great efforts this campaign. He resumed with a 2nd placing at Warwick Farm and then stepped up to 1100m for the first time, stalked the speed and sped past them for an easy win last start. Third-up over 1100m suits perfectly and I can see him settling at the rear, winding up on the turn and finishing over the top of them in the straight.
