Beaudesert Tips December 4 - Nolan's four-year-old can make it two on the trot

  • Spirit Of Boom horse can carry that weight
  • Suggested Stake: 2 Units to Win, 3 Units to Place
Beaudesert racing Wednesday

Conditions are ideal for Michael Nolan’s four-year-old to go back-to-back today.

Race 5 - 4:12PM SPELL & PRE-TRAIN AT AQUIS RACING Class 5 Handicap (1650 METRES)
Coming off a hard-fought win at Toowoomba, SPIRIT’S PRIDE looks ideally placed to make it two in a row today. The Spirit Of Boom horse has been mixing his form of late but it appears that trainer Michael Nolan may have now found the best distance for his four-year-old. Three starts back, he finished a very disappointing last in a BM65 at Toowoomba over 1210m. Then next start, he finished a lot closer when taking home fifth prize in a Class 4 over 1300m at the same track. He was then freshened-up and three weeks later hit Toowoomba again, only this time Nolan put him over the mile (1640m) and with Skye Bogenhuber back aboard for the first time since January, he fought like a tiger to hang on and win. That was his first hit-out beyond 1350m and it appears to have made a statement. Bogenhuber remains aboard here and although he has to carry 3kgs more after that win, he is dropping back to country company and has drawn the fence where he will do little work early, and should enjoy the tow into the home straight where all he needs is a little daylight and Bogenhuber will do the rest. He is outstanding each-way value here.
