Cessnock and Moruya Tips July 15 - best bets for NSW racing on Monday

Aaron Hamilton in Free Tips 15 Jul 2019
  • Confidence rating: 80% both

NSW racing action takes place at Cessnock and Murtoa on Monday where both tracks are rated a Good 4.

Here are my best bets for Cessnock and Moruya today:

CESSNOCK:

Race 7 - 4:35PM EAST CESSNOCK BOWLING CLUB BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1350 METRES)
On benchmark ratings, EAST ESPLANADE and Di’s Diamond rate far higher than their opposition on their last two starts, and the former looks best suited on Monday. East Esplanade likes to roll along up on the speed, and after trying to lead all the way last start over 1400m on a Soft 5 at Newcastle, he faded late to finish 3rd. He won sixth-up last campaign over 1400m, and sixth-up this preparation, he now drops back to 1350m on a slightly firmer track and should prove hard to run down from barrier 5

MORUYA:

Race 4 - 2:25PM BAY BARGAIN SHOES MAIDEN HANDICAP (1200 METRES)
BLITZENRUSH could be the big improver here following a first-up effort that was better than it reads. The lightly-raced five-year-old Snitzel gelding was lining up for his fourth career start after trialling well behind Viceroy who was beaten half a length in the Listed Ramornie Handicap (1200m). Blitzenrush resumed over 1000m and was caught three wide without cover for the trip and just battled away in the straight but looked like a horse looking for slightly further. Second-up from barrier 2, he now steps up to 1200m where he can sit right on the speed and make his own luck.
