Gosford and Lismore Tips June 13 - best bets for NSW racing on Thursday

Aaron Hamilton in Free Tips 13 Jun 2019
  • Confidence rating: Jazzland 90%, Light Motion 92%, Dances With Time 85%
  • Suggested stake: 2 units to win on each

NSW racing action takes place at Gosford and Lismore on Thursday where both meetings will be run on Soft tracks.

Here are my best bets for Gosford and Lismore today:

GOSFORD:

Race 4 - 1:55PM TREASURY WINE ESTATES CONDITIONAL BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP (1900 METRES)
It was third-up last campaign where we saw JAZZLAND score by nine lengths on a Soft 6, and with two runs under his belt this time in, he looks set for a spike performance. He may have looked a bit disappointing last start when he weakened right out of it to finish 7.3 lengths from So You Win, but he sat outside Maddison Avenue (who finished last), and the pair went 7.7 lengths above class benchmark to the 600m, and there was no way Jazzland could keep going at just his second run this time in. Tommy Berry replaces Racheal King, and Berry should rate his mount perfectly just off the speed which should be set by Dylan’s Romance. Jazzland was scratched from Warwick Farm on Wednesday in preference of this event, and although the synthetic hoof filler being used for the first time isn’t ideal, trainer Kristen Buchanan wouldn’t be running her stable star if there was a slight concern.

LISMORE:

Race 6 - 3:35PM LISMORE FOOD TRUCKS 27TH JULY @ LTC BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1516M)
A brilliant last start performance has LIGHT MOTION on top here. At his second run this preparation, the seven-year-old Encosta De Lago gelding came from midfield in the 1300m event at Lismore and recorded the second fastest final 600m (35.16) of the meeting, as well as running the quickest final 200m (11.72) of the meeting. He really only flattened out in the final 100m and attacked the line hard, so the step up to 1516m looks perfect third-up. Most of this horse’s wins and 2nd placings have come when third-up from a spell or a let-up, so I’m expecting further improvement which should see him winning with even luck. He also carried 60kg last start and is sure to feel the difference when apprentice Olivia Pickering jumps aboard with just 55.5kg. China Plate looms as the danger but his only run at the track was in slower time than Light Motion ran last start, and China Plate also goes up 3kg on that effort while Light Motion drops 4.5kg.
Race 7 - 4:10PM TAB.COM.AU CLASS 2 HANDICAP (SCALED - 1.0KG) (1200 METRES)
A smart ride by Brooke Ainsworth can get DANCES WITH TIME over the line here. The lightly-raced six-year-old mare led all the way to win at this track and distance last start, but if Ainsworth gets sucked into a speed battle with Wotsizname who is likely to try and spear across from the outside gate, that pair can bring each other undone. Dances With Time was just as impressive winning two starts ago when she camped off the speed and took over in the straight to win by 3.5 lengths. She drops 2kg on her last start effort and should get every chance from barrier 4.
