Race 4 - 1:48PM SIRROMET Class 5 Handicap (1200 METRES)
It’s been three weeks since his last race, but GREYWOLF showed trainer Ben Currie in a Toowoomba trial last week that he is fit and hungry for another run. The Toorak Toff grey won a class 3 two starts back after copping more checks than the Westpac Bank and had he lost the race would surely have won it on protest (see the head-on replay). Then last start he beat all but Brax home in a BM70 at the Sunshine Coast where he raced wide and shifted out in the run home. His recent trial had eyes turning however where he put more than three lengths on Honey Toast who is an open class winner, taking out the 2016 Toowoomba Cup and being denied a second Cup when finishing second behind Morendi (beaten a nose) in this year’s event. The galloping grey is pumped and ready to go and drawn the fence, should enjoy a perfect sit behind Cool Sequence who looks the probable leader. He has been caught wide at his past two starts and with a soft rails run here, looks the testing material in the run home.
