Racing at Coff's Harbour and Wellington Sunday

COFF’S HARBOUR

Race 6 - 4:55PM INSURANCE ADVISERNET WAYNE GLENN PINK SILKS CUP (1200 METRES)
Down in the weights today, TARBERT lines up here in top form and looks the one to beat. The Red Element gelding raced here two starts back and beat home the field of 14 in a BM66 event over 1200m. Then last start he box seated and turning for home looked the winner on straightening, but under 60.5kgs just couldn’t reel in the winner. The six-year-old drops 6kgs here and from gate six could possibly box-seat again and with the lighter weight could finish too well for these. Matthew Paget returns to the saddle for his sixth ride on the gelding, bringing with him all the experience he will need to steer him home. Unbeaten at the track and trip, he looks the goods here.

WELLINGTON

Race 7 - 5:20PM GERONIMO FARM EQUIPMENT DUBBO BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1400 METRES)
Trained at Dubbo by Darren Hyde, WESTLINK lines up here after three runs back from a six-month break and has won here previously. The Casino Prince gelding finished just behind the placegetters at his first two runs back. Then last start, he beat all but Not A Sound home at Orange in a harder class 3 event over 1280m. He drops back in grade here and carries only 1kg more than his last run. Very little pace in the race should see him push forward to settle in first half of the field and the extra distance should suit his late finishing racing style. In easier company today, he gets his chance to break through for his first win this preparation.
