Pakenham Tips June 11 - Filly likely to break her maiden at Pakenham

Pakenham.

It looks like a tricky betting program at Pakenham on Tuesday. We have a nine-race program on the synthetic and there doesn’t look a clear standout by any means. I have found a bet in race four, with the daughter of More Than Ready, likely to break her maiden status.

Race 4 - 2:00pm Lifestyle Kaduna Park F&M Maiden Plate (1400m)
The Cindy Alderson-trained SATIN SASHES looks very well-placed in this maiden and I have her priced favourite, ahead of the current favourite Afrikaans. The two-year-old daughter of More Than Ready was met with good market support on debut at Sale over 1100m ($8.00 into $5.50) and was forced to do plenty of work early, sitting three-wide with no cover on the speed and I thought her effort to stick on into fourth was terrific. She stayed at 1100m last start here at Pakenham on the synthetic. She found a nice position early, sitting fifth one horse off the fence but as the race progressed she held-up from the 400m until almost the last three strides, where she was trying to squeeze through a gap and ran into third. I really liked her work through and past the post, as she ran the fourth-fastest 400m-200m of the race in traffic and the fastest last 200m of the race and 13th-fastest last 200m of the meeting. Her last start overall figure of 7.6 lengths below the all benchmark is actually the best last start figure in the race and she did that in restricted room. She looks primed to run a big race third-up and I like the step-up from 1100m to 1400m and the favourable map from barrier six.
