Pinjarra Tips - February 9

Race 4 - 2:55PM THOROUGHBRED BREEDERS WA PEARL CLASSIC (1400 METRES)
After going down when resuming as a $2.15 favourite at her last start, MIKIMOTO, will be out to bounce back from that defeat when she lines up in Race 4 of the day. The four-year-old mare claimed her first three starts back in 2017 before running a narrow 3rd at Group 3 level in the W.A.Champion Stakes and was put aside for a year after sustaining an injury. Given the circumstances, her recent performance was admirable due to the long layoff and she didn't quite have conditions to suit after drawing wide in her return on January 19. Logic says that she will be a second up improver and that she can take this out.

Race 6 - 4:05PM MAGIC MILLIONS WA 2YO CLASSIC (1200 METRES)
The Magic Millions WA 2YO Classic is one of the features at Pinjarra and I am going with JERICHO MISSILE to make it two wins from as many starts after claiming his debut back in December. On that occasion, the Doug Harrison-trained galloper settled just off the speed and was very strong to the line, edging ahead of Specialism, while there was a bit of a gap to the 3rd placegetter. He has had the benefit of a recent trial and wasn't extended when narrowly missing out in that. He has drawn to be prominent from barrier 6 and with Willy Pike on board he is hard to go past.

Previous Pinjarra Tips:

January 12

Race 1 - 12:51PM PROGRAMMED PROPERTY SERVICES PLATE (1200 METRES)
Looking to get off to a bit of a flyer in the opener and it is RUBIC ROSE that should be hard to beat. The Fred Kersley-trained galloper takes on the fellow two-year-olds and easily has the best of the exposed form. She finished runner up on debut to Beethoven before turning the tables on that horse on December 29, defeating a number of the rivals that she meets again in this. While she rises slightly in weight, she won with a bit in hand last time and can get the day off to a flyer for us.
Result (2nd)

Race 7 - 4:25PM SIGN STRATEGY 100 CLUB MANDURAH CUP (1400 METRES)
WESTERN TEMPLE makes his return in this race after nine months off the scene and showed plenty at his last campaign by winning or placing in each of his six runs. The noted back marker looks suited in the big field in this and will be ridden to perfection by the leading jockey, Willy Pike. His first up form has been good in the past and at his last preparation he missed out by a nostril at Ascot. He comes in with a trial under his belt and will go very close.
Result (unplaced)
