Racing Bet of the Day February 11 - best bets for Tamworth and Queanbeyan

Aaron Hamilton in Free Tips 11 Feb 2019
  • Confidence rating: Roman Typhoon 95%, Kopaonik 85%
  • Suggested stake: Roman Typhoon (3 units to Win), Kopaonik (2 units to Win)

Monday racing action comes from Tamworth and Queanbeyan in NSW, and I’ve found two horses worth having a crack at.

Here are my best bets for Tamworth and Queanbeyan today:

TAMWORTH:

Race 2 - 2:50PM TAB.COM.AU - BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1000 METRES)
This is a big drop in class for ROMAN TYPHOON and I’m sticking with him. I tipped the son of Roman Emperor last start but he overraced most of the way and lost all chance half-way into the 1100m BM70 event. Despite over doing it, he was only beaten 2.3 lengths by Invincible Gangsta who was narrowly defeated at Canterbury on Friday night. Roman Typhoon should be at peak fitness fourth-up from a spell, and the drop back to 1000m should see him run it right out regardless of whether he settles or not. He maps to get a nice run behind three very speedy horses here and leading hoop Greg Ryan takes the ride and should give him every chance from barrier 4.

QUEANBEYAN:

Race 6 - 5:05PM AUDREY SHARP MEMORIAL F&M BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1460 METRES)
Six-year-old mare KOPAONIK looks primed to run a big race following three runs over 1000m, 1200m and 1400m. She’s improving with each runs this campaign and has good form last start having finished 2.2 lengths from the in-form Luga Lad who has won three in a row. Pink Moscato was in 3rd place and lines up in opposition on Monday, but Kopaonik meets her 1kg better at the weights and has more upside. In three fourth-up runs, Kopaonik has finished half a length 3rd behind The Grandson and Kravchenko, half a length 2nd to Rock Prodigy, and last campaign she scored a barnstorming win at Wagga coming from last to win by two lengths, but she was later disqualified for returning a positive sample to Heptaminol. She’s fit now and should be charging home from the rear.
