Kent also nominated for Geelong on Wednesday but has opted for what looks an easier assignment.

The daughter of Dundeel is out of the smart mare Skating On Ice, and with three runs under her belt she looks ready to produce the goods.

She finished 5.5 lengths from the winner over 1200m on debut before stepping up to 1400m and finishing 4.2 lengths from She’s On Time and Miss Matriarch who has subsequently won a maiden.

Kiss And Cry then went to Sale and finished 2.2 lengths from Collectable over 1400m on a Soft 6.

Her performance in that race rated 2nd behind Collectable, and that form looks good considering Collectable finished 3.2 lengths from Verry Elleegant in the Group 3 Ethereal Stakes (2000m) before finishing 10th in the VRC Oaks (2500m).

Kiss And Cry got a rails run last start and passed a few runners but was overtaken by two of those same runners in the final 50m as she clearly peaked on her run.

Her 3rd placing was credible, and fourth-up over 1600m is ideal.

Of Monday’s rivals, Harlin Express profiles similarly but appears to have a slightly weaker sprint, while the others rate well below this pair.

Kiss And Cry has the most upside and should be hardest to beat.
