He now resumes from a three-month spell and looks well-placed in Race 7, the Burke Urban Flying Handicap (1000m) at Murray Bridge on Friday.

Debt Collector has a great first-up record of three wins and two placings from five attempts, and first-up last campaign, he was defeated by star South Australian galloper Gytrash who was a tragedy beaten in the Group 3 The Heath (1100m) at Caulfield when resuming.

Debt Collector’s first-up performance last time in rated 7.1 lengths above all benchmark (BM) and it was his best fresh performance to date.

He really impressed in a recent 1000m barrier trial at Murray Bridge where he sat midfield and cruised home under a tight grip to take ground off Yankee Eyes who was being urged along.

There’s a stack of speed in Friday’s event, and that will suit Debt Collector who needs a solid tempo so he can use his brilliant turn of foot late.

He gets in with equal bottom weight (54kg) as leading hoop Raquel Clark takes the reins, and with a stronger finish than his rivals, Debt Collector should be finishing best to score.
