It was a solid debut effort by the Shay Keating-trained Aandenking at Ballarat over 1400m on the synthetic track, and the four-year-old daughter of Turffontein looks hard to beat on Tuesday.

She lines up in Race 3, the Whitford Liquid Waste Maiden Plate (1400m), and other than Highway To Success who is a maiden after 11 starts, the rest have been posting some poor figures and will need to improve out of sight to be competitive.

Aandenking sped out to lead on debut and went a bit too quick which set it up for Sensitivity to win in record time (1:24.98).

She laid out on the bend and early into the straight and could hardly lift her legs in the final 100m after doing too much work early.

Despite finishing 5.7 lengths back in 3rd, Aandenking’s time was still good enough to have been competitive in the BM64 held one race later which boasts some strong form.

Jordan Childs sticks with her and a cross-over nose band goes on which indicates they want her to be restrained a bit more than last start so she’ll have something left for the finish.

She’s a four-year-old mare having her second career start, and she’s sure to take a stack of improvement from that first-up run at the same track and trip.

With even luck from gate 7, Aandenking should be finishing best to score.
