The Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young stable are probably the most in-form yard in the country of late with 21 winners from their past 100 runners for a return of +44 percent return on investment (ROI).

When they combine with jockey Linda Meech that strike rate goes up with 21 winners from 79 rides for a return of +60.9 ROI.

Interestingly, their horses seem to perform best on Heavy tracks with a total of 33 winners from 136 starters on Heavy tracks throughout their career for a massive ROI of +822 percent.

In the past 12 months alone, you would have lost money backing all Busuttin and Young-prepared gallopers on Good and Soft tracks, but if you backed their runners on Heavy tracks, you would have made +32 percent ROI.

So, keep that bit of info in mind for future reference.

On Friday, Geelong Racecourse is rated a Heavy 10, and the stable saddle up five runners with Meech riding Ironore Gina ($6.50) in Race 1, Luke Currie riding Defence Attorney ($2.45) and Meech riding Gin Smash ($4.80) in Race 2, Currie gets the sit on Frankie Blue Eyes ($4.60) in Race 3, and Meech rounds out the show with I Am Eloquent ($3.10) in Race 5.

While I think it may pay to back each of their runners based on the aforementioned stats, I Am Eloquent looks like the best bet of the day.

The three-year-old I Am Invincible filly defeated Singing Sword on a Heavy 10 at Geelong when first-up over 1112m, and Singing Sword finished 3rd at Sandown on Wednesday in a race they gifted to Meech who controlled the speed and got away with murder as she won on Acting – who is trained by none other than Busuttin and Young.

I Am Eloquent then went to Caulfield for the $150,000 VOBIS Gold Ingot (1400m) and was far from disgraced finishing four lengths from Parmie.

The stretch from 1112m to 1400m may have been a bit too testing in that class, but she still ran well going 1.8 lengths above benchmark (BM).

Most of Friday’s rivals are averaging 15 lengths below BM, so I Am Eloquent looks a clear standout on form, she will strip much fitter third-up and she is proven on a Heavy 10 which will find most of them out.
