The Group 1 action continues at Eagle Farm on Saturday May 25 for the running of the Kingsford Smith Cup (1300m), while in Melbourne, the action is at Flemington.

We have combined our best bets from the two venues into a four-leg multi that pays $748 for a $10 investment at sportsbet .

Eagle Farm Race 5 - 1:35PM ASCOT GREEN LORD MAYOR'S CUP (1600 METRES)
TOM MELBOURNE (Place) looks perfectly placed on Saturday to notch up a rare victory. Given his record, however, we might look to play it safe and restrict this leg to place only. He has narrowly missed out at his past few and on form he should gobble these up. He split Archedemus and Sixties Groove two starts ago and Archedemus and Gem Song in the Hawkesbury Cup (1600m) a fortnight ago. Those horses all went on to run well at Group 1 level in the Doomben Cup (2000m). The eight-year-old will take up his customary position towards the front of the field and there doesn't look to be much pace in this. It should be his day but for peace of mind, the conservative approach looks to be for the place.

The two-year-olds line up in the BRC Sires Produce and GARIBALDI (Place) looks to be a solid player at nice odds. The Tony Gollan-trained galloper finished 4th behind Dubious in the recent Champagne Classic (1200m) and wasn't far behind the likes of Strasbourg and Czarson. That pair are among the favoured runners in this market. In that lead up, Garibaldi didn't enjoy the best of runs in the early to middle stages but finished off very well and the step up in trip looks right up his alley. He is likely to get back from the gate but will be strong at the end and was an Eagle Farm winner earlier in the year.

Eagle Farm Race 8 - 3:35PM TAB KINGSFORD-SMITH CUP (1300 METRES)
The feature of the day at Eagle Farm is the Kingsford Smith Cup and in a wide-open betting race, ENCRYPTION (Place) can make his presence felt. The Godolphin galloper has bee trimmed in from $21 to $16 in early markets and is one of three in the race from the powerful stable. The three-year-old is no stranger to racing at the highest level. He was runner-up in the Oakleigh Plate (1100m) earlier in the year and chased well behind Nature Strip and Pierata in the Galaxy (1100m). Interestingly, he has had six weeks in between runs and comes in with a couple of trials under his belt. He will be suited by the big field and likes to get back, while the 1300m shouldn't hold too many concerns. He has drawn well and with the experienced hoop, Corey Brown, on board, it will be no surprise to see him feature at the business end.

Flemington Race 8 - 4:05PM The Andrew Ramsden (2800 METRES)
The stayers line up in the Andrew Ramsden at Flemington and it looks to be a bit of a race in two between Steel Prince and SURPRISE BABY (Win). Those two fought it out over the 2600m at headquarters on May 5. On that occasion, Steel Prince settled on the speed and took over at the 400m mark before holding on gamely. Surprise Baby was just a half a length away in 3rd position and was desperately unlucky after almost falling at the 500m mark. We know that the Adelaide Cup (3200m) winner will stay the trip and while he has drawn wide, he should have plenty of time to find a position in the early stages. He can turn the tables this time around.
