Sunshine Coast February 8 - Our best selections for the Sunshine Coast Friday

Steve Bennett in Free Tips 7 Feb 2019
  • Suggested Stake: 2 Units to Win
Sunshine Coast racing at Corbould Park Friday

Beware the damp track today and considering this, I like a Chris Munce filly who is a last start winner and can go back-to-back today.

Race 6 - 6:34PM ACCESS INSULATION Class 1 Handicap (1200 METRES)
First-up after four months in the paddock, the Chris Munce-trained ZOUCARA broke her maiden status in impressive fashion and looks well placed to make it two in a row here. The Zoustar filly started her racing career with consecutive runner-up finishes at the Sunshine Coast and Ipswich. On both occasions she ran on rain affected tracks and had Ryan Wiggins in the saddle. She was then spelled for four months and resumed in great style, winning a Gold Coast maiden over 1100m by a length with Scott Galloway aboard (Wiggins had commitments on the Sunshine Coast that day). That win was highlighted by the fact that she travelled three-deep the entire trip and still won (going away). The three-year-old has drawn ideally in gate four and is reunited with Wiggins today who will be anxious to go one better than his two second prize finishes already on the board. She can only be fitter for that run which puts her right in the firing line here.
