Sunshine Coast Tips April 14 - Locally-trained mare looks the goods today

Bright skies and sunshine is the go at Corbould Park today but we still have a wet track (Soft 6) to contend with which shouldn’t pose a problem for the Captain Sonador mare I have picked out.

Race 8 - 4:29PM GO ELECTRICAL WARANA BenchMark 80 Handicap (1200 METRES)
So many boxes ticked here, it’s hard to pick where to begin. Locally-trained by Tony Haydon, SEDUCTIVE DREAM lines up here with a top-shelf resume and is a clear top selection in this event. Ten starts on her home track have reeled in four victories and as many minor placings with all four of those wins at today’s 1200m trip. Her past two starts were against some very horses and yet she still managed a top-three finish in both races. Two starts back she found Manaya a little too smart, finishing second in the Eagle Farm BM80. Then last start, she took on similar company at the same track and was far from disgraced when finishing third behind Cool Sequence and Scallopini (who won in open company at Eagle Farm yesterday). That’s good form coming into this easier event, particularly with the Ben Currie-trained Publishing Power not running. Two wins and as many minor placings on soft tracks covers that base well enough. The five-year-old will jump from gate 5 (after the withdrawal of the topweight) with Michael Cahill (a previous winning rider) in the saddle. A winner third-up previously, this lady looks the pick of the day and any black odds should be considered overs here.
