Sunshine Coast racing at Corbould Park Wednesday (PA Images)

Yet another wet track for Corbould Park but I found one who thrives in damp conditions.

Knocked about by scratchings, we still have nine runners here with all but one tasting success on wet tracks. One of those is the Stuart Kendrick-trained STRIKING DISTANCE who looks well-placed after winning two of his three starts this time in. He amazed the crowd first-up (after a 30-week spell) when he demolished the field in winning his maiden here back in March. Carrying 59kgs, he jumped in front and was never troubled, going on to win by 5.5 lengths. Second-up, he beat all but Master Baylee home in a BM62, beaten a neck on the line. Then last start, he turned it around again and put almost three lengths on a class 1 field, here over 1200m. All three runs were here at Corbould Park and all were on wet tracks. Jockey Ryan Wiggins is two from two on his back and he will be legged aboard again today. The Snitzel gelding will jump from gate four and in his current frame of mind, prove very hard to run down.
