Wodonga Tips September 9 - Mist the one at Wodonga

Racing is at Wodonga on Monday and my best bet is in race three. The Mathew Ellerton & Simon Zahra-trained River Mist comes through a hot form race at Geelong and should be going close

Race 3 - 2:30pm Naubro Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate (1590m)
The horse I want to be with is the Mathew Ellerton & Simon Zahra-trained RIVER MIST. She chased a smart one home at Sale two starts ago in Somethinaboutharry before bumping into Steinbrenner (metro placed) last start at Geelong. The raced rated through the roof, as she ran 8.3 lengths above the class benchmark to finish fourth, running the second-fastest 400m-200m split of the race and the third-fastest last 200m. She just looked to be peaking late, so I like the step back in distance and that last start figure is far better than any of these horses. The current favourite is Tuesday Cabernet and the post 9am money has surprised me, as she has been $3.00 into $2.50. I thought she was short enough at her opening quote, although I do conceded she is a solid winning chance. She comes through the hot form race at Sale and ran on well two starts ago at Bendigo over 1300m. She was a month between runs last start and up to 1500m and raced flat at Mornington, making a run before weakening. She is yet to run a figure in her three-start career and I’m happy to take her on. The other chance in the betting is the Lindsay Park-trained Singles. She was ok at Moe first-up over 1211m off a very slow early tempo and I expected a better run with the blinkers on last start at Wangaratta. She was very one-paced and just grinded to the line with the blinkers on first time, I couldn’t be with her.
