Caulfield Racecourse

Located approximately 8km from the Melbourne CBD, Caulfield Racecourse is one of the state’s premier racing tracks and hosts 12 Group 1 races throughout the year. It is home to the world’s richest 2400m handicap, the Caulfield Cup (2400m). The triangular shaped circuit is approximately 30 metres wide, with a total circumference of 2080m and a 367m finishing straight.


Doomben Racecourse is located approximately 7km north of the Brisbane CBD and hosts three Group 1 races: the BTC Cup (1200m), Doomben Cup (2200m) and Doomben 10,000 (1350m). The track is 26m wide, has a circumference of 1715m and a home straight of 350m.


Located adjacent to Doomben Racecourse, Eagle Farm Racecourse is a heritage-listed racecourse that is approximaely 7km from the Brisbane CBD. Eagle Farm host five Group 1 races throughout the winter including the Stradbroke Handiap (1350m). The turf track is 28m wide, has a circumference of 2027m and a home straight of 434 metres.


Home of Australia’s most famous race, the Melbourne Cup (3200m), Flemington Racecourse is located approximately 5km from the Melbourne CBD and hosts 13 Group 1 races throughout the racing season. Flemington has a circumference of 2312m and a final straight of 450m, however, it also boast a unique 1200m straight known as the ‘straight six’.


Located approximately 6km from the Melbourne CBD, Moonee Valley Racecourse hosts four Group 1 races including Australia’s weight-for-age championship, the Cox Plate (2040m). The rectangular shaped track has a circumference of 1805 m and a finishing straight of 173m which is the shortest in Australia.


Being South Australia’s main racing track, Morphettville Racecourse is in action just about every Saturday throughout the year with races meetings being split between its main track and Parks circuit. Located approximately 10km from the Adelaide CBD, Morphettville hosts four Group 1 races including The Goodwood (1200m). The main track has a circumference of 2307m and is 32m wide, while the Parks track is considerably smaller with a 2100m circumference and a width of 25m.


Situated in the Western Sydney suburb of Rosehill, Rosehill Gardens Racecourse is approximately 20km from the Sydney CBD. The premier race track hosts 10 Group 1 races including the world’s richest 2YO race, the Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m).


Located approximately 6km from the Sydney CBD, Royal Randwick Racecourse hosts more Group 1 races than any other Australian racing track. A total of 16 Group 1 races are run throughout the year, with 10 of those races taking place during the autumn. Australia’s richest two weeks of racing takes place during April with The Championships offering eight Group 1 races and more than $18 million in prizemoney.
