Australian Cup Betting Odds 2022

Odds for the Group 1 Australian Cup (2000m) will be available when markets are set.

Below are the odds from 2021.

Defending champion Fifty Stars is the $4 favourite to go back-to-back in the Australian Cup. Harlem recently achieved the feat in 2018 and 2019.

Fifty Stars ended Harlem’s streak in the 2020 edition when beating Regal Power by half a length for trainers David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig.

The Danny O’Brien-trained four-year-old mare Paradee is second favourite at $6.50. She has won her past three starts, including the Group 2 Peter Young Stakes (1800m).

Five-year-old gelding Shared Ambition is a $10 chance for the race. Prepared by Chris Waller, Shared Ambition was second in the Peter Young Stakes (1800m) on February 20.

Grahame Begg’s four-year-old gelding Nonconformist is a $13 chance for the Cup. He was fifth in the Peter Young Stakes.

Also at a $13 quote is Steel Prince to be ridden by in-form jockey Jamie Kah.

The Patrick Payne-trained Debibrillate is $15 after putting together a winning sequence of four. This included the Listed Lord Stakes (1700m) defeating Paradee and the Listed Mornington Cup Prelude (2000m).
