The Group 1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) barrier draw will be declared at 9:00am on March 2, 2022.

We will update this page when the field is declared. Below is the barrier draw and final field for 2021.

Trainer James Cummings has accepted with three horses for Saturday’s Canterbury Stakes. Bivouac has drawn barrier eight with Glen Boss to ride, Kementari has barrier nine with Rachel King to partner and Savatiano will have Hugh Bowman after drawing gate three.

Bivouac was plain first up from a spell in the Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning (1000m) when running fifth behind Nature Strip at Flemington. He has won two from four second up from a spell.

Savatiano was a brilliant winner of the Group 2 Expressway Stakes (1200m) courtesy of a front-running ride from Bowman as they defeated Kolding by two lengths.

The Michael, Wayne and John Hawkes-trained Masked Crusader has drawn barrier two with Tommy Berry riding. Dreamforce has barrier five and Samadoubt has drawn alongside in six.
