Only eight nominations have been received for Saturday’s Group 1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) at Randwick.

Three-year-old colt Standout has raced five times in his career for four wins. He won the Group 2 Expressway Stakes (1200m) last time defeating Alizee by 1.5 lengths. That was his first run back from a spell.

The James Cummings-trained five-year-old mare Alizee is among the nominations and will look to turn the tables on Standout. She followed up her second in the Expressway with victory in the Group 2 Apollo Stakes (1400m).

Stablemate Savatiano is also nominated following her win in the Group 2 Millie Fox Stakes (1300m) over White Moss. Savatiano won the rich $1 million The Hunter (1300m) at Newcastle in November.

White Moss was third in the Expressway and second in the Millie Fox. She is one of the eight for the Canterbury Stakes.

Exceedance has been dual nominated for the Canterbury Stakes and Newmarket Handicap (1200m) on Saturday.

Begood Toya Mother, Mister Sea Wolf and Something Fast round out the nominees.
