Canterbury Stakes Odds
Standout is the $2.40 favourite for Saturday’s Group 1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) at Royal Randwick.
Ridden by Tommy Berry in the Expressway Stakes, Standout scored by 1.5 lengths. The three-year-old colt has won four of his five career starts. His only defeat came in the Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes (1200m) behind Cosmic Force.
Savatiano ($3.30) is a five-year-old mare and stablemate to Alizee. Both mares are trained by James Cummings. She won the Group 2 Millie Fox Stakes (1300m) by close to three lengths over White Moss who is $41 for the Canterbury Stakes. That victory was her second consecutive after winning the $1 million The Hunter (1300m) at Newcastle in November.
Alizee is currently $3.50. She won the Group 2 Apollo Stakes (1400m) last start defeating Dreamforce and Happy Clapper. That was her second run this prep after finishing second in the Group 2 Expressway Stakes (1200m) which was won by Standout.
The Bostonian is a $15 chance ahead of Begood Toya Mother at $17 and Mister Sea Wolf at $26.
