Below are the odds for the 2021 Canterbury Stakes.
Bivouac is trained by James Cummings and is the $3 favourite for the Canterbury Stakes. He was fifth when beaten as favourite in the Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning (1000m). Two starts ago, Bivouac won the Group 1 Darley Sprint Classic (1200m) at Flemington.
Godolphin’s six-year-old mare Savatiano is $4.20 second favourite behind her stablemate. She has raced 37 times for 12 wins and 12 minor placings with career earnings of more than $2.1 million.
Savatiano was a first up winner of the Group 2 Expressway Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on January 30.
The Michael, Wayne and John Hawkes-trained four-year-old gelding Masked Crusader is a $6 chance for the Canterbury Stakes. He captured the Group 3 Southern Cross Stakes (1200m) by two lengths at Randwick on February 13.
Dreamforce is an eight-year-old gelding prepared by John Thompson. He is first up from a spell and is currently at a $10 quote for the race.
Samadoubt hasn’t raced since October 2019 when fourth in the Group 3 Craven Plate (2000m). He is $13 along with Dawn Passage who shares the same price.
