Caulfield Guineas Nominations

Saturday’s Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield has attracted 46 nominations.

The Michael, Wayne and John Hawkes-trained three-year-old colt Ole Kirk is one of the headline entrants for the Caulfield Guineas. He was victorious in the Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens on September 26 defeating North Pacific and King’s Legacy.

King’s Legacy has also been nominated for the Guineas as he seeks another Group 1 win to go along with his Inglis Sires’ (1400m) and Champagne Stakes (1600m) wins from his two-year-old season. The colt is prepared by Peter and Paul Snowden.

Unbeaten colt Mo’unga for Chris Waller is another major nomination for the Caulfield Guineas. A winner of all three races, Mo’unga last raced on September 12 as he captured the Listed Dulcify Stakes (1500m).

Peter Moody’s comeback to the training ranks has started well with Glenfiddich taking on the older horses in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) where the colt ran third behind Behemoth. He then won the Group 2 Stutt Stakes (1600m) at The Valley.

Crosshaven and Tagaloa are other important nominations for the Caulfield Guineas.
