A final field of 10 has been announced for the first Group 1 of 2021.

Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m) winner Sir Dragonet resumes for trainers Ciaron Maher and David Eustace. Sir Dragonet will be ridden by regular jockey Glen Boss with the pair combining to win the Cox Plate by 1.25 lengths. He then ran sixth in the Group 1 Melbourne Cup (3200m) before being turned out for a spell.

Sir Dragonet will begin from barrier three and carries 59kg under weight-for-age conditions.

Chris Waller has two runners in the race with Humidor drawing barrier 10 with Damian Lane to ride and Imaging drawing gate nine with Craig Williams in the saddle.

Humidor won the Group 2 Feehan Stakes (1600m) at The Valley in September. He then finished second in the Group 1 Underwood Stakes (1800m) and third in the Group 1 Caulfield Stakes (2000m).

Imaging raced five times last preparation for three thirds, which included the Group 1 George Main Stakes (1600m).

Tom Dabernig and Ben Hayes prepare Fifty Stars who was second in the Group 1 Mackinnon Stakes (2000m) at his latest run. He was placed over 1400m at Caulfield in October.
