CF Orr Stakes Nominations
The Group 1 CF Orr Stakes (1400m) nominations will be available on January 31, 2022.
See the 2021 CF Orr Stakes nominations below:
Cox Plate (2040m) winner Sir Dragonet has been nominated for his return to racing. Trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, the five-year-old entire was a brilliant winner of the Cox Plate. He then finished sixth in the Group 1 Melbourne Cup (3200m) won by Twilight Payment.
Three-year-old gelding Crosshaven is amongst the nominations for trainers Tom Dabernig and Ben Hayes. He was fourth in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) in October and then came out to win the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes (1600m).
Stablemate Fifty Stars has also been entered for the CF Orr Stakes after a consistent spring preparation without winning. He was runner up in the Group 1 Mackinnon Stakes (2000m) at Flemington in his latest run.
Chris Waller has nominated Humidor and Imaging for the first Group 1 race of 2021. Humidor won the Group 2 Feehan Stakes (1600m) before running second in the Group 1 Underwood Stakes (1800m). Imaging will be much more suited to the distance compared to his stablemate with placings in the Group 1 George Main Stakes (1600m) and $1 million Yes Yes Yes Stakes (1300m).
