Chipping Norton Stakes Betting Odds 2022

The Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) will be run at Royal Randwick on Saturday, February 26 and we’ll have odds available when markets are set.

Here are the Chipping Norton Stakes odds for 2021.

Chris Waller’s five-year-old mare Verry Elleegant is the $2.70 favourite as she races second up from a spell. Her spring preparation was strong after winning the Group 1 Turnbull Stakes (2000m) at Flemington in October before winning the Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) at her next start. She then ran in the Group 1 Melbourne Cup (3200m) finishing in seventh place.

At her first run back from a spell, Verry Elleegant chased home Colette in the Group 2 Apollo Stakes (1400m).

Colette for trainer James Cummings will clash with Verry Elleegant once again and she is $3.20 to get the better of the star mare for a second-straight time. Colette has won her past two starts, which includes the $7.5 million Golden Eagle (1500m).

Another Waller runner is a key chance in the race with five-year-old gelding Kolding, the winner of the Group 1 George Main Stakes (1600m) at Randwick in October. He was second in the Apollo Stakes last time out. Kolding is $4.60.

All other horses are in double figures.
