Coolmore Stud Stakes Final Field & Barrier Draw
The final field and barrier draw have been released for Saturday’s Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington with a field of 14 sprinters contesting the $1.5 million event.
Golden Slipper (1200m) winner Farnan has drawn barrier 10 and will have a new jockey with Glen Boss to ride. Regular jockey Hugh Bowman has been replaced after a controversial ride on the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained three-year-old colt in the Group 2 The Run To The Rose (1200m); Farnan set a fast tempo before wilting to run fifth.
Ciaron Maher and David Eustace’s Anders has drawn gate two after a shock defeat in a field of three runners in the Group 3 Blue Sapphire Stakes (1200m). It was only 0.3 lengths on the line between the trio with Anders beaten by both Ranting and Hanseatic.
Wild Ruler has drawn the outside barrier in 14 with James McDonald to ride. He chases a hat-trick of victories.
Glenfiddich came up with barrier three, Ranting has eight and September Run has drawn 12.
