The Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m) will be run at The Valley on Saturday, October 24. Here are the latest Cox Plate betting odds.

Four-year-old entire Russian Camelot looks a strong contender to win the 2020 Cox Plate. Winner of the Group 1 Underwood Stakes (1800m) at Flemington on September 26, Russian Camelot looks primed for a tilt at the Cox Plate. The Danny O’Brien-trained entire put the writing on the wall back in May when capturing the Group 1 South Australian Derby (2500m).

Another key Cox Plate hopeful could be the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained five-year-old entire Sir Dragonet. Previously trained by Aidan O’Brien, Sir Dragonet has raced nine times for two wins and four seconds. Back in July he was runner up behind Magical in the Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup (2012m) at the Curragh.

Chris Waller’s eight-year-old gelding Humidor could be on track to race in the Cox Plate once again. In the 2017 Cox Plate, Humidor gave champion mare Winx a run for her money when beaten a half-length in the weight for age championship. He was also third in the 2018 Cox Plate.
