Darley Sprint Classic Final Field & Barrier Draw

The final field and barrier draw have been released for Saturday’s Group 1 Darley Sprint Classic (1200m) at Flemington with a field of 10 sprinters competing for $1.5 million.

Defending champion Nature Strip has drawn barrier nine as he looks to win for the first time this preparation. Chris Waller’s six-year-old gelding was being touted as one of the best sprinters in the world but has failed to deliver so far this campaign. He finished seventh in the $15 million The Everest (1200m) in his most recent run.

Six-year-old mare Fabergino will jump from barrier 10 following a second placing in the Group 2 Caulfield Sprint (1000m) won by Graff who has gate one for the Darley Sprint Classic.

Bivouac has barrier six as he looks to go one better following his runner up performance in The Everest. Gytrash who ran third in the race has franked the form by winning last start.
