Last start $5 million All-Star Mile (1600m) winner Mugatoo is the favourite for the Doncaster Mile. He defeated Russian Camelot to capture the rich mile race at The Valley on March 13.
Prepared by Kris Lees, the six-year-old gelding ran fourth in the Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m) back in October when beaten 3.5 lengths by Sir Dragonet.
The Annabel Neasham-trained three-year-old colt Mo’unga is another key runner for the Doncaster Mile after he won the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m) on March 27. The colt has won four of seven starts and was runner up in the Group 1 Randwick Guineas (1600m) prior to his Rosehill Guineas success.
Think It Over, Aegon and Avilius are all in the mix for the $3 million race.
Glen Boss partnered the Kerry Parker-trained five-year-old gelding Think It Over to victory in the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) beating Dreamforce and Avilius. That was the sixth win of the gelding’s career from 23 starts.
