The Annabel Neasham-trained rising four-year-old entire Mo’unga looks an ideal Epsom Handicap prospect on the back of a prosperous three-year-old season that saw him capture the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m). Prior to that victory, Mo’unga had finished a narrow second behind Lion’s Roar in the Group 1 Randwick Guineas (1600m).
Another rising four-year-old that could be a leading contender is the Mark Newnham-trained Harmony Rose. She finished third in the Randwick Guineas when beaten 1.6 lengths. At her next start, Harmony Rose was sent out as favourite in the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) where she was beaten by Hungry Heart. The mile looks to be more suitable for Harmony Rose.
Hungry Heart is prepared by champion trainer Chris Waller and she won her last three races prior to a spell. Starting with the Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes (1500m), Hungry Heart then captured both the Vinery Stud Stakes and Group 1 Australian Oaks (2400m).
