Star New Zealand gelding Te Akau Shark is the $2.10 favourite to win Saturday’s Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens. Latest George Ryder Stakes odds for 2020.

Trained by Jamie Richards, five-year-old gelding Te Akau Shark won the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) at Royal Randwick last start. It was his second Group 1 victory in a row having claimed a 1400m event at home prior to the Chipping Norton. Te Akau Shark has drawn barrier eight in the field of nine runners.

Second favourite at $5.00 is three-year-old colt Super Seth who is trained by Anthony Freedman.

Super Seth has won five of his nine starts with the highlight coming in the spring of 2019 when defeating Alligator Blood in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m). He has had an interrupted autumn campaign with two starts producing a win in the Group 3 Manfred Stakes (1200m) and second in the Group 1 Futurity Stakes (1400m).

Another New Zealand horse is in the market with the Tony Pike-trained five-year-old gelding The Bostonian at $7.00. He won the Group 1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) last start.

Dreamforce is $8.50 and Alizee is $9.50 with double figures about the rest of the field.
