Trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, two-year-old colt Farnan is one of the $5.50 favourites to capture the $3.5 million Golden Slipper. A winner of four races from five starts, Farnan has won his past two with a 3.3 length victory in the Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes (1100m) and 1.8 length win in the Group 2 Todman Stakes (1200m).

Tagaloa won the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) for trainers Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young two starts ago defeating Hanseatic. He then finished second behind Farnan in the Todman. Tagaloa is also at $5.50 after drawing barrier six compared to Farnan who has barrier 14.

Hanseatic is a colt trained by Anthony Freedman for Godolphin. He has won three of four with his only loss coming in the Blue Diamond. He hasn’t raced since then but won a trial over 1045m at Randwick on March 12. Hanseatic is currently a $6.00 chance for the Slipper and has barrier nine.

All other two-year-olds are double figures with Dame Giselle leading the rest at $10. The filly won the Group 2 Reisling Stakes (1200m) at her most recent start.
