The Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) will be run at Flemington on Saturday, September 12. Here are the latest Makybe Diva Stakes betting odds.
South Australian Derby (2500m) winner Russian Camelot is set to be one of the key horses this spring carnival and could be a leading contender if trainer Danny O’Brien decides to line the four-year-old entire in the Makybe Diva Stakes. Russian Camelot is a winner of three races from five starts and he showed his class with a seven-length demolition of rivals in a Benchmark 64 Handicap (1600m) at Pakenham.
Chris Waller trains seven-year-old gelding Kings Will Dream who resumed from a spell with a third placing in the Group 2 PB Lawrence Stakes (1400m) won by Savatiano. During the spring in 2019, Kings Will Dream captured the Group 1 Turnbull Stakes (2000m) at Flemington.
The Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas-trained four-year-old entire Dalasan was runner up behind Russian Camelot in the SA Derby. He has since returned with a second placing in the Group 3 Spring Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville.
Western Australian five-year-old mare Arcadia Queen could be prominent during the spring for trainers Grant and Alana Williams. She won the Group 1 Kingston Town Classic (1800m) at Ascot by 4.5 lengths in 2018. The mare was fifth in the PB Lawrence Stakes before being scratched from the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) due to a foot abscess.
Other horses that could be aimed towards the Makybe Diva Stakes are Regal Power, Showmanship, Behemoth, Cascadian and Mystic Journey.
