Moir Stakes field & barrier draw
A final field of 13 has been declared for Friday night’s Group 1 Moir Stakes (1000m) at The Valley after the barrier draw was completed.
Three-year-old colt Hanseatic has drawn barrier seven for the Moir Stakes. Trained by Anthony and Sam Freedman for the powerful Godolphin operation, Hanseatic finished fourth first up in the Group 2 McEwen Stakes (1000m) when beaten a length. He is the winner of three races from six starts and has won second up.
Western Australian mare Fabergino has drawn barrier eight with Peter Knuckey to ride. Trained by Tiarnna Robertson, the six-year-old mare has built up an incredible record with 12 starts producing nine wins. She has won her last four starts, including the Listed Bob Hoysted Handicap (1000m) at Flemington and Group 3 Northam Stakes (1100m) at Ascot.
The James Cummings-trained six-year-old gelding Trekking returns from a spell. Last prep, he won the Group 1 The Goodwood (1200m) at Morphettville. Trekking has drawn barrier two and will be ridden by John Allen.
Pippie has drawn barrier five with Damian Lane to ride for trainers John and Chris Meagher.
