Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Exceedance is one of 29 nominees for Saturday’s Group 1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) at Flemington.

Michael, Wayne and John Hawkes’ three-year-old colt Exceedance resumes to the track for the first time since winning the Coolmore Stud Stakes over Bivouac during the spring. He is a perfect two from two when racing first up from a spell.

Bivouac is among the nominations following a first up sixth in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) won by Pippie.

Loving Gaby is another key runner nominated for the event. She won the Manikato Stakes (1200m) during the spring and was third in the Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning (1000m) last start. The winner of that event, Gytrash, is also in the nominations for the Newmarket.

Other key runners in the nominations for the Newmarket Handicap are The Inevitable, Libertini and Zoutori.
